COACH RENTAL SERVICE WITH DRIVER AND COVID-19:
GUIDE LINES AND ORGANIZATIONAL MODALITIES FOR THE CONTAINMENT OF THE VIRUS IN THE PUBLIC AND PRIVATE TRANSPORT SECTOR
June 12, 2020
Few days ago, the Ministry of Infrastructures and Transports issued new guidelines that protect passengers and prevent contagion on board the various vehicles of transport.
Among the various general guidelines, there are some specifications valid for car rental services with driver, minibus hire, bus-coach hire.
In addition to the already well-known directives, such as:
- Obligatory sanitization of vehicles;
- Maintaining interpersonal distancing;
- Obligation to wear a mask (for both passengers and drivers);
- Possible measurement of body temperature and consequent inability to travel if a temperature higher than 37.5 ° C is ascertained;
The innovative point of these guidelines is the possibility of derogation from the above general principle of interpersonal distancing of at least 1 meter.
Here are the cases in which it is possible to derogate from this principle:
Vertical use of the seats, both in line (one place behind the other) and diagonally (checkerboard), without prejudice to the obligation for all passengers to wear the mask and the prohibition to sit face to face;
People living in the same housing unit and accompanied minors;
Installations of removable dividing panels (after adequate experimentation) such as not to involve structural changes on the provisions relating to safety.
It is therefore clear that the places that can be occupied are closely linked to the composition of the group and the possible presence of people living in the same housing unit.
It had already been well defined and communicated that for services carried out with NCC cars, a maximum of 2 people seated in the rear seats can be transported, and that for the 6-8 seat NCC minivans, a maximum of 4 people seated in the rear rows can be transported to the driver.
For minibus or coach hire services, before each trip or service, it will be necessary to check the composition of the group on a case-by-case basis, in order to then be able to define the places available for each vehicle.
